Building a long-term network of trusted independent auto repair shops.

Building a Long-Term Home for Great Auto Repair Shops

We’re not a quick roll-up and we’re not building to sell. GearSteady acquires great shops and holds them for the long term, protecting the legacy owners built while helping their teams grow and succeed.

About GearSteady

GearSteady exists to do the automotive repair business differently.

Across the country, there are incredible repair shops that have served their communities for decades. Shops built on trust, craftsmanship, and long-standing relationships with customers who return year after year.

These are businesses owners spent their lives building.

But eventually many owners reach the same crossroads — retirement, burnout, or simply wanting to step back after years of hard work.

Too often the only buyers available are private equity groups focused on consolidation and short-term exits.

GearSteady was created as a different option.

We acquire great shops, preserve what made them successful, and operate them for the long term.

Why GearSteady Is Different

We Protect What Makes Your Shop Special

When a shop joins GearSteady, the goal isn’t to change everything.
We believe those are the real assets that make a great shop valuable.

Built for the Long Term

There is no private equity exit clock.

We are not buying shops to sell them again in five years.

GearSteady follows a buy-and-hold philosophy. When we acquire a shop, we plan to own it for decades.

Real Operational Support

Independent shop owners often spend years focused on customers and repairs, without the time or resources to build strong internal systems.

GearSteady provides:

The goal is simple: help great shops run even better.

People First

Our focus is always on the people inside the shop.
GearSteady is run by operators who believe in working alongside shop teams and building businesses we would be proud to own for the next 20 years.

How the Process Works

Simple Steps to Partner with GearSteady

We designed our acquisition process to be transparent, efficient, and respectful of your time.

1

Sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement

The process begins with a confidential conversation. Once an NDA is signed, we can review your shop’s information and begin exploring a potential partnership.

2

Letter of Intent

If both sides agree to move forward, we issue a Letter of Intent (LOI) outlining the key terms of the potential acquisition.

3

Asset Purchase Agreement

Following the LOI, we prepare the Asset Purchase Agreement, which defines the final purchase terms and details of the transaction.

4

Employee Announcement

Before closing, we work closely with you to introduce GearSteady to your team. Our experienced leadership team helps answer questions and ensure a smooth transition for employees.

5

Closing

Once the final agreements are complete, we move forward with closing and officially welcome your shop into the GearSteady network.

6

Post-Closing Support

After closing, our operations and management teams provide ongoing support to help your shop continue growing and serving the community.
